How do I get to Gettysburg?
Gettysburg is located in south central Pennsylvania, less than 10 miles north of the Maryland border (the Mason-Dixon Line).
Driving to Gettysburg
Gettysburg is less than a two-hour drive fromWashington, D.C., Baltimore, Frederick, Md. and Harrisburg, Pa. Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and New York City are only 3 to 3 ½ hour drives. Major thoroughfares pass through or near the town, making for easy travel from several mid-Atlantic locations.
From the North:
Take Route 15 South from Harrisburg.
From the South:
Take Route 15 North
Take Route 81 North to Chambersburg, Follow Route 30 East for 25 miles to Gettysburg.
From the East:
Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Route 76) West or Route 30 West.
From the West:
Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Route 76) East or Route 30 East.
